Qureight raises $20 million to expand AI imaging platform into new lung and heart diseases
Qureight has raised $20 million in a Series B financing round to expand its AI-powered quantitative imaging platform and develop new imaging models for lung and heart diseases.
The Cambridge-based imaging company said the funding, led by Molten Ventures alongside existing investors, will support the development of a new AI imaging laboratory and expansion of its 3D deep learning imaging portfolio.
Qureight’s technology is currently focused on lung fibrosis but the company plans to use the new laboratory to accelerate development in additional disease areas, including asthma, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis and drug-induced lung toxicity.
The company provides imaging services and precision endpoints for clinical trials, using artificial intelligence and quantitative imaging to help researchers assess disease progression and improve clinical trial design.
Qureight said its new AI imaging laboratory will house its 3D chest imaging Foundation Model. The company expects this to reduce the amount of data and time required to develop new disease models, allowing it to expand its technology into additional therapeutic areas more quickly.
The funding will also support the development of Qureight’s AI-powered quantitative imaging analytics platform, which combines imaging CRO services, AI-generated lung imaging biomarkers and data science tools.
Its imaging CRO services are designed to support image handling in clinical trials, site onboarding and decisions about patient inclusion. The company’s proprietary AI lung imaging biomarkers are used to quantify structural changes in different lung compartments that may indicate disease progression.
Qureight is also developing synthetic control arms, which can be used to compare patient outcomes with data from previous or real-world trials. The approach could potentially reduce the size, cost or duration of some clinical studies, although the usefulness of synthetic controls depends on the quality and comparability of the underlying data.
The company said its services are already being used by biopharmaceutical partners in clinical trials involving fibrotic lung diseases.
The Series B round was led by Molten Ventures, with participation from existing investors Hargreave Hale AIM VCT, XTX Ventures, Guinness Ventures, Meltwind and Ascension. The financing will also support expansion of Qureight’s commercial team as the company seeks to grow its imaging CRO business.

The company believes the combination of advanced imaging and AI could help address challenges in clinical trials for diseases where conventional measures may not fully capture changes in disease progression.
In particular, quantitative imaging could provide researchers with more detailed measures of structural changes in the lungs and heart, potentially supporting the development and evaluation of new treatments.

The investment comes as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies increasingly use artificial intelligence and advanced imaging to generate more detailed data from clinical trials. For Qureight, expanding beyond lung fibrosis into diseases including asthma, pulmonary hypertension and bronchiectasis could broaden the application of its platform and create opportunities to support trials across a wider range of respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
The company will now focus on building its AI imaging laboratory, expanding its disease models and scaling its clinical trial imaging services.
