AstronauTx appoints Adam Rosenberg as Chair of the Board

AstronauTx has appointed Adam Rosenberg as chair of the board, adding an experienced biotechnology executive to its leadership team as the company advances programmes focused on improving sleep architecture to treat neurodegenerative diseases.

The London-based biotech is developing therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders, based on growing evidence linking sleep disruption with neurodegeneration. Rosenberg brings more than 20 years of experience in company building across the life sciences sector, with a background spanning operational leadership, strategy and board governance in both US and European biotech companies.

Rosenberg has held chief executive and board-level roles across multiple venture-backed and public biotechnology companies, with a particular focus on central nervous system drug development. His experience includes leading companies through growth phases, overseeing partnerships and acquisitions, and supporting pipeline progression toward clinical development.

Jane Rhodes, chief executive officer of AstronauTx, said the appointment comes at an important stage for the company. She said: “Adam’s deep experience in building successful neuroscience companies and leading strategic transactions will be invaluable as AstronauTx enters its next phase of growth. His insight and leadership come at a pivotal time as we progress our programmes toward the clinic and continue to strengthen our position as pioneers developing therapeutics at the intersection of sleep physiology and neurodegenerative disease.”

Rhodes also acknowledged the contribution of the outgoing chair. She said: “I would also like to pay tribute to Tim Edwards and thank him for his important contribution to the creation and development of AstronauTx over the last several years, and to wish him well in his future endeavours.”

Rosenberg has previously served as chief executive officer at several neuroscience-focused biotechnology companies and has held chair or independent director roles across a range of boards. He currently serves as chief executive officer of RyCarma Therapeutics and as chair of Seamless Therapeutics and VectorY Therapeutics.

Commenting on his appointment, Rosenberg highlighted the growing focus on sleep as a therapeutic target in neurological disease. He said: “There is increasing awareness around the importance of sleep quality in relation to cognitive function and disease progression. AstronauTx’s focus on sleep as a therapeutic entry point for neurodegenerative diseases has the potential to transform how we treat Alzheimer’s and other neurological conditions, and I’m excited to work with Jane and the team to help drive the Company’s continued growth.”

The board appointment supports AstronauTx’s plans to move its pipeline closer to the clinic, as interest continues to grow around novel approaches to treating neurodegenerative disease beyond traditional amyloid- and tau-focused strategies.
