Cherwell to become AnalytiChem UK from September 2025
Cleanroom microbiology solutions specialist Cherwell is set to be renamed AnalytiChem UK Ltd from 1st September 2025, marking the next step in the company’s integration into the global AnalytiChem Group.
The move follows Cherwell’s acquisition by AnalytiChem in January 2024. The company says the change is in name only — with no alterations to operations, facilities, customer service, or the quality standards its customers rely on. Cherwell will continue to operate from its ISO9001-certified Bicester facility, manufacturing the trusted Redipor range of prepared media products.
As AnalytiChem UK, the company will maintain its 54-year track record supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and other controlled environment industries, while benefiting from deeper integration into the wider AnalytiChem network — which spans Europe, North America, and Australia.
“Our name may be changing; but our long-standing Cherwell values and culture will absolutely be maintained and business will very much continue as usual — just with a strengthened ability to collaborate with our sister companies and deliver on the opportunities that this presents for us and our customers,” said Andy Whittard, managing director, Cherwell.
He added: “Becoming AnalytiChem UK is the next exciting chapter in Cherwell’s strong heritage in quality and innovation, presenting many further opportunities for future growth and expansion. Our UK leadership team are embracing this, whilst also ensuring that all the values that we hold dear, including quality, support and flexibility for our customers, remain strong within our business moving forwards.”
AnalytiChem says the name change will allow for increased investment, shared expertise, and greater synergy across its global manufacturing and commercial sites. This includes further development of the Redipor product line — which has already seen global rollout — and innovations such as the Redipor TwistLock plate, launched following the installation of a new production line at the Bicester facility.
The TwistLock plate delivers enhanced sample security for environmental monitoring in sterile product manufacturing, reflecting the company’s continued investment in product innovation under the AnalytiChem umbrella.
AnalytiChem manufactures specialised laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables for microbiology and analytical chemistry. Its portfolio includes culture media, sample preparation tools, and certified reference materials designed to support critical laboratory workflows in life sciences and industrial markets.
