Hyphens Pharma out-licenses Cerapro MED cream for six European markets

Hyphens Pharma International Limited (Hyphens Pharma), a Singapore-based specialty pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare group, has granted Swiss firm Louis Widmer SA the rights to commercialise its Cerapro MED Skin Barrier Cream in six European countries: Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

The licensing, supply and commercialisation agreement will see Hyphens Pharma receive an upfront payment and royalties on future sales. The product is expected to launch in 2026.

Cerapro is a patented cream designed to lower skin pH and support the restoration of the skin barrier, a key factor in atopic dermatitis, a common form of eczema that affects millions worldwide. The cream is approved as a CE-marked medical device under the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and also supports the skin’s natural antimicrobial defence.

Under the agreement, Louis Widmer, a Swiss dermatology company established in 1960, will promote Cerapro to dermatologists and paediatricians in the covered markets. Both companies said the deal aligns with their goal of bringing evidence-based skin treatments to patients.

“This milestone partnership with Louis Widmer reflects our focus on innovation and patient care,” said Lim See Wah, chairman and CEO of Hyphens Pharma. “By combining our expertise with Louis Widmer’s established presence in dermatology, we hope to expand access to Cerapro in Europe while exploring additional growth opportunities.”

Annemarie Widmer, CEO of Louis Widmer, added: “We are pleased to bring Cerapro to our markets. It will strengthen our Remederm line, which is widely used in Europe for managing dry and atopic skin. This agreement allows us to offer patients a clinically validated solution for atopic dermatitis.”
