Prosper AI raises $5M to expand AI-driven healthcare voice platform

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, accelerating drug discovery, improving clinical trial efficiency, and enhancing patient care. Leading companies are achieving up to 25% faster drug discovery timelines, 70% cost reductions in trials, and 20% improvements in marketing ROI through AI-driven solutions.

By 2025, AI is projected to generate $350–410 billion annually for the pharmaceutical sector, according to BioPharmaTrend, unlocking efficiencies across development, precision medicine, and commercial operations.

Within this broader AI transformation, Prosper AI is addressing one of healthcare’s most pressing operational challenges: administrative inefficiency. The company has raised $5 million in seed funding to scale its voice AI platform, designed for hospitals, medical practices, and billing companies. The funding round was led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, CRV, and Company Ventures.

Administrative staff account for roughly a third of the workforce in US hospitals and physician offices, creating costs exceeding $450 billion annually. Prosper AI’s platform automates front- and back-office workflows, including patient scheduling, billing inquiries, insurance benefit verification, and prior authorizations. Unlike generic voice AI tools, Prosper’s agents are healthcare-specialized, with deep electronic health record integrations and battle-tested workflow templates.

Cofounders Josep Mingot and Xavier de Gracia, who met at MIT and Harvard, founded Prosper AI in 2023 to improve healthcare access and efficiency. “Our mission is to unlock universal access to care by empowering healthcare organizations to achieve unprecedented efficiency with AI Agents,” said Xavier de Gracia, co-founder of Prosper AI.

The platform is already deployed with major clients, including a Providence-affiliated hospital employing 125,000 staff, a Fortune 50 pharmaceutical hub, a 30,000-employee billing company serving top US health systems, and a leading EHR provider covering over 100,000 medical providers. Since Q2 2025, Prosper AI has achieved fourfold revenue growth.

At Synergy Healthcare Associates, a multispecialty group, Prosper automates more than 50% of front desk calls, including scheduling and waitlist management, with plans to expand into benefits and claims. Nathan Woelfel, COO at Synergy Healthcare Associates, said: “Prosper has redefined how our call center runs by simplifying intricate processes, shortening patient wait times and boosting efficiency, all the while sounding very human. The team’s ability to deliver at speed, and customize to our needs has been incredible.”

The platform’s AI agents navigate payer IVRs with 99% accuracy, extract information in minutes, and escalate calls to staff when required. Reported automation rates range from 50–70% for patient calls, with sub-two-hour turnaround for complex payer interactions. Looking forward, Prosper AI plans to expand beyond voice, building an AI workforce capable of reading faxes, connecting to APIs, and taking direct actions within EHR systems, aiming to reduce administrative waste and free resources for patient care.
