Astoriom acquires Precision Stability Storage to expand North American stability storage footprint
Astoriom has acquired Precision Stability Storage, expanding its stability storage and biorepository capabilities in North America as demand increases from biopharma, biotechnology and medical technology companies. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition adds facilities in Wilson, North Carolina; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Hopedale, Massachusetts to Astoriom’s global network, strengthening its geographic coverage and capacity for regulated stability storage. The company said the expanded footprint will improve local access for customers requiring compliant storage for temperature- and humidity-sensitive samples and products.
Precision Stability Storage provides offsite stability storage across a range of International Council for Harmonisation environmental conditions, including long-term, intermediate and accelerated stability studies, as well as refrigerated, frozen and cryogenic storage. Astoriom said the facilities support storage conditions from ambient through -196°C, enabling the preservation of biological materials and product samples across research, development and commercial lifecycles.
The deal forms part of Astoriom’s acquisition-led expansion strategy. Previous transactions include the acquisition of biorepository assets from Flagship Biosciences in North Carolina and UK-based MTS Cryo Stores and Cool Repair Scientific, alongside investments in cryogenic storage capacity and site expansion in Ireland.
Lori Ball, board member at Astoriom, said: “This acquisition is testament to Precision Stability Storage’s exceptional standards of storage excellence, compliance and security, offering the utmost-quality equipment and facilities available for temperature and humidity control to ensure the preservation of vital stability studies. Together, we’ve reinforced our position as a trusted global partner that organizations can depend on to maintain the integrity of their valuable sample assets.”
Clay Hile, managing director at Precision Stability Storage, added: “Precision Stability Storage has been proud to play a crucial role in ensuring outstanding storage and protection of products and samples for various industries. Astoriom’s expertise and dedication to safeguarding every sample will ensure this continues, while also providing customers with access to Astoriom’s global stability storage and biorepository solutions.”
Will Edwards, CEO at Astoriom, said: “Astoriom continues to expand into key markets, demonstrating both growth and long-term demand for our integrated services in the US. This acquisition reinforces our unwavering commitment to providing global customers with local access to world-class stability storage facilities. Supporting our customers with closer proximity and greater flexibility will ensure we remain the trusted leader in safeguarding critical scientific research and consumer product samples.”
He added that the acquisition strengthens Astoriom’s ability to provide scalable stability storage solutions across the product development lifecycle, from early research to commercial manufacturing.
Stability storage infrastructure has become an increasingly critical component of pharmaceutical and life sciences supply chains, with regulators requiring validated environmental conditions for product development and post-approval studies. Astoriom’s expanded North American presence positions the company to support growing demand for outsourced storage as companies scale development pipelines and globalise manufacturing operations.
