Cytovance Biologics celebrates 20 years advancing biopharma manufacturing in Oklahoma City

Cytovance Biologics, a contract development and manufacturing organisation serving the biopharmaceutical industry, is marking its 20th anniversary in Oklahoma City. Since its founding in 2005, the company has grown from a small start-up into a globally recognised CDMO, supporting biologic drug development and manufacturing while contributing to Oklahoma City’s life sciences ecosystem.

The milestone was celebrated at Innovation Hall with representatives from the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, Life Science Oklahoma, local and state officials, business leaders, and long-standing Cytovance partners in attendance.

Ping Zhang, president and CEO of Cytovance Biologics, said: “Two decades ago, Cytovance was founded with a vision to create a world-class biomanufacturing company right here in Oklahoma City. Today, we are proud to celebrate 20 years of innovation, collaboration, and impact both for our partners and for the local community that has supported our growth every step of the way.”

Cytovance’s Oklahoma City facility enables the development and manufacturing of antibodies and therapeutic proteins, helping clients advance biologics from early concept to commercial scale. Over the past 20 years, the company has supported more than 300 client programmes, served over 200 biotech and large pharma companies across more than a dozen countries, and manufactured multiple commercial therapies currently in use worldwide.

Jeffrey Seymour, president and CEO of Oklahoma City Innovation District, said: “The Cytovance story is an Oklahoma City story. From the beginning, its founders believed, long before it was popular, that you could build a world-class bioscience company right here in Oklahoma. As Cytovance continues to grow and evolve, so does Oklahoma City.”

Cytovance remains actively engaged with the local community, employing more than 200 professionals, supporting STEM education and workforce development initiatives, and participating in regional programmes to strengthen the state’s biotechnology ecosystem.

Deborah Moorad, secretary of commerce for the state of Oklahoma, said: “Oklahoma has proven to be an incredible environment for companies like Cytovance to grow and thrive. Congratulations to Cytovance on 20 years of innovation and impact. Their success reflects the power of collaboration among our research institutions, universities, private sector partners, and community leaders. The innovation taking place here is resonating far beyond our state’s borders and showcasing how Oklahoma is driving progress in the life sciences.”

Looking ahead, Cytovance said it remains focused on expanding capabilities, driving innovation, and partnering with biopharma companies to accelerate the delivery of transformative medicines to patients worldwide.
