IgniteData appoints Laura Hilty as CSO and Joe Lengfellner as CPO amid Series A funding close

IgniteData has appointed Laura Hilty as chief strategy officer and Joe Lengfellner as chief product officer, as the clinical trial data automation company continues its expansion following a successful Series A funding round.

The company’s $11 million Series A round, announced in November 2025, was led by FCA Venture Partners, with the Labcorp Venture Fund and Epsilon also participating. The funding is intended to support the scale-up of IgniteData’s Archer platform, which automates the transfer of clinical data between trial sites and sponsors.

Hilty, previously serving as a principal at HealthX Ventures and in senior roles at Advarra, Forte Research Systems, and Epic, will oversee strategy, product planning, and partnerships at IgniteData. Hilty said: “For the better portion of my almost two decades in clinical research, I have been passionate about solving site/sponsor inefficiency problems in clinical trials in a way that is site-centric yet gives sponsors what they need to drive faster treatments for trials. IgniteData epitomizes how these challenges can be solved through a deeply collaborative and comprehensive approach and I could not be more thrilled to join forces with this team to help achieve this mission.”

Lengfellner joins IgniteData from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he led clinical research informatics and technology initiatives for more than 15 years. As chief product officer, he will lead product innovation and delivery for the Archer platform. Lengfellner said: “In my career, I have seen first-hand how difficult it can be to transfer clinical data between sites and sponsors and how costly delays emerge when these processes break down. I am thrilled to join an organization that is uniquely positioned to help clinical research teams overcome these persistent challenges and allow them to instead focus squarely on the development of life-saving treatments.”
