New independent pharma news platform, Discover Pharma, launches
A new independent voice has emerged to continue covering the critical developments in the global pharma industry. Discover Pharma officially launched this month, founded by industry veterans determined to maintain a platform dedicated to high-quality, accessible, and human-centred reporting.
The editorial team is led by Liza Laws, former senior editor of a number of industry titles, who returns as Editor-in-Chief. She is joined by Alex Jennings and Laurence Elphick, who bring a wealth of commercial and industry experience to the publication’s business development and advertising strategies.
“It recently became clear the industry still needed a space where news, innovation, and real people behind the science could be highlighted,” said Laws. “With Discover Pharma, we aim to meet that need—covering the science, the strategy, and the stories that matter, while staying independent and inclusive.”
The new platform plans to report across a wide range of industry sectors including contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), contract research organizations (CROs), supply chain challenges, emerging therapeutic areas, regulatory landscapes, and the integration of AI in drug development. Topics such as the reshoring of pharmaceutical manufacturing and rising interest in weight-loss drugs and psychedelics in mental health treatment will also feature prominently. However, the team stresses that coverage will not be limited to these areas.
Regular content features will include a Women in Pharma series, spotlighting female leaders across the sector, as well as interviews, human-interest stories, video content, and live or on-demand webinars. The team is keen to connect directly with those working across pharma and biopharma to gather news, feedback, and feature ideas.
Discover Pharma invites companies and stakeholders to get in touch with editorial or commercial enquiries. “We want to be a platform that serves the industry’s needs and builds long-term relationships. That includes helping companies amplify their message to a relevant, engaged audience,” added Laws.
