ten23 health joins Alliance for RTU to advance sterile manufacturing standards

ten23 health has joined the Alliance for RTU, a technical association founded to advance scientific exchange around ready-to-use (RTU) containers in sterile drug product manufacturing.

The group aims to drive standardization and innovation across aseptic filling processes, with the goal of improving operational efficiency and patient safety.

The alliance was formed in September 2024 by primary packaging leaders Gerresheimer, SCHOTT Pharma, and Stevanato Group. It provides a dedicated forum for technical dialogue between pharmaceutical companies, CDMOs and CMOs on RTU container formats such as syringes, vials, and cartridges.

RTU containers are widely used in syringe platforms, but further optimization is needed for vials and cartridges, where industry players continue to encounter manufacturing and handling challenges.

ten23 health brings deep experience in developing and testing sterile drug products using a range of RTU formats, and is expected to play a key role in ongoing discussions around harmonization and process improvements.

By contributing knowledge from its work across diverse customer projects, ten23 aims to support the development of RTU platforms that streamline fill-finish operations and facilitate regulatory compliance.
