Vetter recognised as 2026 CDMO Leadership Awards winner in finished dose category

Vetter has been named winner in the Finished Dose category at the 2026 CDMO Leadership Awards, strengthening its position as a trusted contract development and manufacturing organisation serving injectable drug developers.

The recognition highlights independent assessment of CDMO performance across the industry, based on quantitative data and verified feedback from biopharma sponsor companies. It reflects customer confidence in Vetter’s manufacturing and supply capabilities across the injectable medicines sector.

The CDMO Leadership Awards evaluate providers across five categories, with winners selected through a combination of real-world outsourcing performance data and structured customer evaluations. To qualify, organisations must meet category requirements and receive sufficient validated sponsor feedback from pharmaceutical partners.

The awards are organised by Outsourced Pharma and Life Science Connect, with research support from the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development. The programme is widely regarded as a benchmark for performance in pharmaceutical outsourcing services.

In 2026, CDMOs were assessed across Biologics, Cell & Gene Therapy, Small Molecule API, Finished Dose and Fill-Finish categories, reflecting the increasing complexity and diversification of outsourced manufacturing models across the life sciences sector.

Vetter’s recognition in Finished Dose reinforces its role in supporting injectable drug development from early clinical phases through to commercial supply. The company continues to expand its global manufacturing footprint, with recent investments in Europe and the United States and planned capacity expansion of around €2bn through to 2035.

As biologics and complex injectable therapies continue to grow in importance, CDMOs are under increasing pressure to scale capacity while maintaining quality, regulatory compliance and supply reliability. Vetter has positioned itself within this evolving landscape by investing in infrastructure, technology and operational systems designed to support long-term customer programmes.

Lars Hahn, senior vice president global sales organization at Vetter, said: “We are committed to supporting our customers every day, and this award recognizes our ongoing efforts to provide the best customer service experience possible. It underscores our focus on operational excellence, reliability, and innovation, as well as the devoted hard work of our 7,300 employees to deliver life-enhancing or even life-saving medication to patients around the world.”

Organisers of the awards emphasised that the recognition is driven directly by sponsor feedback rather than marketing submissions or self-nomination alone.

Louis Garguilo, chief editor of Outsourced Pharma, said: “The CDMO Leadership Awards represent something more meaningful than recognition. They reflect direct feedback from sponsors and the real-world experiences of companies navigating today’s development and manufacturing landscape. This year’s finalists and winners have demonstrated a consistent ability to deliver, adapt, and operate as trusted partners.”

The award comes at a time when pharmaceutical companies are increasingly relying on external manufacturing partners to manage complex supply chains and accelerate time to market. Finished dose manufacturing, in particular, remains a critical bottleneck area as demand for injectable biologics continues to rise globally.

Vetter’s latest recognition reinforces its standing within this competitive CDMO market, where capacity, reliability and regulatory compliance are key differentiators.
